It's Friday
Hey, Guys - I hope you all have had an amazing week. First, I want to say that my thoughts and prayers go out to those involved in the fires here in California as well as those still trying to recover from Maria, Harvey and Irma ❤️🙏🏼.
This week has a couple of great articles, along with a key to some health food terminology.
ENJOY!
1 | Does "certified transitional" ring a bell? Yea, I'm right there with you. Eat This, Not That! Does a great job breaking down health-food buzzwords so you're able to actually go shopping with more confidence 🙌🏼🍎 - Read the list HERE.
2 | There's a new way for physicians to distinguish between viral and bacterial infections to avoid prescribing unnessesary antibiotics - read more here. This is great news due to antibiotics being over-prescribed and used. Because antibiotics are solely effective against bacterial infections, prescribing them for viral only contributes to your body potentially resisting the antibiotics.
3 | Are you an obsessive thinker? I know I'm guilty of this more times than I'd like to admit. This article shares 12 ways we sabotage our mental health and how we can fix them.
4 | I hope I'm not the only one that can relate to this article. Ms. Lori Deschene, states that we're living in an individualistic cultured epidemic, "where self-reliance, autonomy, and the pursuit of personal gain can leave us feeling isolated and pressured to succeed."
She goes on to say, "This may not be true for everyone, but I know when I get caught up complaining, nine out of ten times what I need to do is stop obsessing about the circumstances of my life" I couldn't agree more.
Read HERE to find out how to shift your negative situation into a more positive-focused one by engaging in any of these 25 acts of kindness.
5 | For those of you who are unaware, the process of juicing strips away the skin and good-for-you fiber leaving it to be tossed out. Well, waste no more! Pressed Juicery + Mendocino Farms have teamed up to reuse the juice pulp to create their "Rescued Veggie" burger.
You know I had to test it out and my verdict - it's DELICIOUS! Read more HERE.
New + Good This Week!
I took over Jenny's IG story and guest blogged for her today! Read HERE.
I experienced my first colonic - working on blog post as you read this ☝🏼. In the meantime, let me know if you've ever had one and your experience!
I sent out Candid Health's first newsletter this month despite being extremely nervous and critical of my work. It was a major milestone for me and I was so grateful to know that those who received it, truly enjoyed it. Thank you.
CHEERS TO THE WEEKEND!
