VLOG | 3 ways to prepare before your appointment with me

I understand because I've been there - preparing for your first appointment with any wellness practitioner can be so freeing and also an emotional roller coaster due to the intimacy and sense of vulnerability of the matter.

You're surrendering yourself to an individual and trusting that they'll assist you in achieving a goal that will enhance your life for the better.

Some emotions you may feel are: excited, anxious, nervous, regretful and/or just plain fearful but the key is to acknowledge and understand the presence of these feelings are completely normal! And some of these questions or thoughts may look like this:

I'm turning a new leaf over in my wellness and I'm ready to nourish my mind and body in a healthy way.

Is it really worth the money? I don't think I'm ready to give up my Starbucks runs or make my own lunch in order to invest.

I really don't know what I want, so what should I say?

I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do this?

I'm scared I'm going to be wasting my time.

I'm embarrassed. I don't want to expose how I eat or anything personal due to judgement.

I want to reassure you that these are ALL positive, justified thoughts. Even the ones that feel negative are crucial to embrace in order to move past the discomfort because they all equate to growth if you truly want it.

Here are three things I encourage you to be clear on before working with me or any other health practitioner:

Make sure you're ready

Are you ready to put in the work? Are you ready to feel and go through some discomfort? With change comes work and willingness. I am here to complement your journey, however, I can only meet you half way. So really be clear on whether or not it's fear (which you can definitely overcome) or you're just not in a place in your life where you feel like committing to a lifestyle change just yet.

Ask questions

This is all about you and what you need. So before working with anyone, make sure they're the right fit for you. Look at it like an interview process and take note on what kind of energy it brings you and how you feel. This is why practitioners have consultations and, to go even further, that's why decided to offer the first 30 minutes free. You may not want to work with me or I may not have the services you're looking for.

Be honest

This goes along with making sure you're ready. You have to not only be honest with yourself but the practitioner. In order for me or anyone else to help you make changes, you must disclose important information pertaining to your goals and journey.

FINAL THOUGHT

Again, congratulations if you've committed to the next step on focusing on your health.

I developed Candid Health to quiet some of the noise around what you should and should not being doing in wellness and make it a fun, smooth transition into a sustainable lifestyle.

If you have any further questions, feel free to reach me at cassie@candidhealthwellness.com or shoot me a DM at @_candidhealth on Instagram. Thank you for watching and have a beautiful day.
