Italian Tempeh Sausage

I've had a thing for tempeh for awhile now and feel it's been a delicious substitute for those recipes that call for meat. Below is a recipe for Italian "sausage". All measurements are estimates - I don't use measuring spoons that often and feel you should season as you please ☺️.
I added this batch to our family favorite, homemade pizzas, using fresh chopped veggies, marinara and Simple Mill's pizza dough mix. I did have some left over (which is even better the next day).
Italian Tempeh Sausage
1 - 8 oz. pkg organic tempeh, crumbled
1 t. dried basil
1 t. garlic powder
1/2 white or yellow onion
1 t. fresh rosemary (minced)
1/2 t. dried thyme
1/2 t. crushed red pepper flakes
1 t. smoked paprika
1/2 cup Bragg Liquid Aminos or tamari
1/4 cup avocado oil
Avocado oil for sautéing
- Add sea salt and pepper as you desire
- Mix all ingredients together, cover and let sit in the fridge for about an hour.
- Remove and sauté for about 10-15 minutes.
Add to your pizza, over salads, pasta or add to chili 😋.
Enjoy!
